Steam your favourite Christmas Pudding as instructed or for one hour.
Prepare about one litre of custard (only slightly sweetened) per four helpings.
Fill individual bowls with custard and Christmas Pudding.
Pour about a table spoon of 54° rum onto the custard (not on the pudding as it will char).
Carefully light the rum to flambé the pudding (extinguish, if necessary).
